Barbour & Floyd Medical Associates is currently seeking an experienced California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for the Adult FSP and Outpatient program. The FSP program is funded by Proposition 63, the Mental Health Services Act. This FSP Program is for adults ages 26-59 who would benefit from an intensive service program for persons diagnosed with a mental illness who would like to work in partnership with a service provider team to develop and achieve individualized recovery-focused goals. Adults in this program have been challenged by homelessness, as well as frequent hospitalizations and/or incarcerations. The best candidate for this position will make it their number one priority to ensure our members are receiving the highest quality of care that can be provided and ensure that all staff are delivering that same service.
Must be available to work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Must have previous experience working with mentally ill adults with history of co-occurring disorders.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
Must have the knowledge and experience to make minor day to day decisions independently.
DMH experience preferred.
Detailed Job Description
Provide medication administration and monitoring for members in the FSP and adult outpatient programs.
Medication education and group services where necessary.
Consultation with inter and intra-agency personnel.
Scheduling and coordinating psychiatric appointments and follow ups.
Completing required DMH billing and documentation.
Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide quality medication support services to clients with mental health, substance use and medical issues.
1-2 years’ experience as an LPT or LVN in a mental health setting.

Demonstrate effective time-management skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer skills and experience using an electronic health record
Experience educating small groups on health care and medication
Must have a valid CA driver’s license in good standing with proof of current auto insurance. Ability to pass pre-employment background check, Med/TB clearance and obtain FBI/DOJ fingerprint clearance.
Current California license as a Psychiatric Technician or Vocational Nurse.
